The Obsession is Real: My Skort, My Heels, and My Saizeriya

The Obsession is Real: My Skort, My Heels, and My Saizeriya

Growing up, my siblings used to tease me endlessly:

“Jez, you have a whole wardrobe full of clothes, but why do we always see you in the same things?”

And honestly? They weren’t lying. I have this slight (okay, major) habit of falling in love with one particular clothing item and then wearing it on repeat until it either fades, stretches, or literally begs for retirement. It’s not that I don’t love the rest of my clothes, but when something gives me all the vibes—comfort, style, versatility—I lock in like it’s a long-term relationship.

Right now, my summer fling is… my black skort (or scooter skirt, depending on what side of the fashion world you’re on). This little piece of fabric has me in a chokehold. It’s giving casual when I throw on sneakers, chic when I pair it with flats, and elegant when I decide to strut in heels. It’s basically three outfits in one, and I’ve convinced myself that makes it practical, not obsessive.

But wait—it gets better. The true star of my recent wardrobe is my burgundy pointed heels. Listen, those shoes are not just shoes—they are a personality. They literally dictate my whole outfit. I’ll stand in front of the mirror and think, “Okay Jez, what can we wear today that lets these heels shine?” Because let’s be honest, these shoes don’t just match an outfit, they demand an outfit. If Cinderella lost these at the ball, Prince Charming would have had to fight me for them.

And this “one-item obsession” isn’t just a clothing thing. It spreads to my food life too. Lately, I have been completely hooked on this Italian restaurant called Saizeriya. Whenever someone says, “Where should we go eat?” my brain doesn’t even compute other options. It just screams: Saizeriya! I’ve been there so often I’m starting to wonder if they’ll eventually hand me a loyalty crown and call me their unofficial ambassador. Honestly, I think I’ve eaten through most of the menu already, but hey, goals are goals.

It’s funny how we humans cling to comfort in different forms—whether it’s a pair of shoes, that one black skort that saves every outfit crisis, or a favorite restaurant that feels like home. I think it’s less about obsession and more about finding joy in the familiar.

So here’s my advice: If you find yourself reaching for that same top, same sneakers, or ordering the same pasta dish on repeat—don’t feel guilty. Lean into it! We all have our little wardrobe heroes and comfort meals, and maybe that’s life’s way of sprinkling a little consistency into our ever-changing days.

But also… if you see me in my black skort and burgundy heels for the hundredth time, just know: I’m not lazy, I’m in love.

✨ So tell me—what’s your “can’t-let-go” clothing item or guilty food obsession? Let’s laugh about it together in the comments.
