Brows Before Barcodes: How Faith Built a Beauty Empire from the Ground Up
Brows Before Barcodes: How Faith Built a Beauty Empire from the Ground Up
If you’ve ever doubted the power of lip gloss, grit, and prayer—Faith is here to change your mind.
Before she was the founder of House of Beauty, a one-stop glam hub for makeup, hair, and nails, Faith was scanning groceries as a till operator. Yep—before she beat faces, she was bagging tomatoes. But deep down, she knew there was something more. Something... beautiful.
So, what did she do? She started small. Like, $5-a-face small. With every paycheck, she added to her makeup kit. Then came lockdown—and while the world was bingeing Netflix, Faith was bingeing makeup tutorials on YouTube like her life depended on it. (Spoiler alert: her glow-up did depend on it.)
With fierce self-belief and a “God’s got me” mindset, she launched herself into the world of beauty—no roadmap, no rich uncle, just pure go mode. “I had so much trust in myself,” she says. And that trust? It turned into bookings, then weddings, then brands calling her to glam up models for shoots. From her living room to a rented studio in town—Faith made it work.
One of her biggest wins? A double wedding in Masvingo for two sisters flying in from Australia. With two assistants, a loaded kit, and nerves of steel, she drove down to make bridal magic. “It was a risk,” she says, “but it was the best team I’ve worked with.” Confidence? Boosted. Face cards? Never declined.
But let’s not pretend it’s all glitz and glitter. Faith’s keeping it real—Zimbabwe’s economy has been no easy ride. “Rentals are crazy expensive,” she says. “You want to create a space where clients feel safe and pampered, but sometimes you barely make a profit.” Still, she rolls with the punches. “We move 😊” she adds, with that unshakable grace.
Through it all, Faith stays ahead of trends without losing her signature style. Workshops? Attended. New techniques? Mastered. Still herself? Always.
Her mantra?
“Put God first and be the best you can be. Copy, but don’t imitate.”
Faith is proof that hustle looks good in highlighter. From barcodes to bridal bookings, her journey is a reminder that sometimes your glow-up starts in the most unexpected places.
